We show you how. TBD Overview and materials Gas connections for your oven or dryer are really pretty simple—it’s mostly a matter of screwing stuff together. But knowing which fittings to use where can be tricky, and using the wrong ones can lead to a dangerous leak. This article will show you how to safely connect a gas dryer or gas range. Kits containing a flexible stainless steel gas line and fittings are available at home centers and hardware stores. The kits usually have everything you’ll need, but in some cases, you may have to buy a few more fittings. But before you start, check with your local building inspections department to see if you’re allowed to do your own hookup. On the next pages, we’ll show you three common gas piping scenarios. We’ll show you one way to make each connection, but there are other equally legitimate ways using common plumbing parts.

Rock Gravel Soil and sand are really the only ones which are easy to drill through. Of course, if there are tree roots in the midst of the soil, you may have trouble drilling through them. Clay breaks up very slowly, and rock and gravel … well, they speak for themselves.

As you may have guessed, it is a fire extinguisher.

How to Connect Plumbing for Kitchen Sinks Hooking up the hot and cold water is often the final step when installing a kitchen faucet. Typical plumbing for a kitchen sink includes a drain line and a pair of water lines with shutoff valves under the sink. In most cases, the hot water is on the left and the cold water is on the right.

Regardless of the style of faucet, hooking up the hot and cold water lines is relatively easy. Supply lines with integral washers are available at most home centers. Obtain the lines based on the distance from the valves to the underside of the faucet. Look to the rear of the sink and locate the threaded stems on the underside of the faucets where the supply lines attach.

Reach up behind the sink and screw the fitting onto the end of the threaded stem on the right side. Tighten the fitting with an adjustable wrench. If space is limited, tighten the fitting with a basin wrench. Adjust the head of the wrench perpendicular to the stem, fit the head onto the fitting and rotate the handle of the wrench clockwise.

The pipes and fittings in this section are all British Standard. This standard is based on the nominal bore of the pipes, not the diameter. If in doubt, please ring us to avoid ordering the wrong products. ABS is the acronym for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, which is the plastic copolymer specially formulated for the manufacture of ABS pipe, fittings and valves.

That will cut through grass roots much easier than the PVC drill will, getting your hole started.

Plans I’ve never been a big user of any CAD program so hopefully these drawings will suffice. This is just to give you an overview of the design which was the second hardest part next to obtaining the materials. Designing a robust launching system took several tries and eventually I got to this one which seemed pretty solid. Each step I tried to include a drawing about what we are assembling to make it as easy as possible to follow.

So the concept behind this is simple, create a safe, strong and powerful launcher. Also, PVC doesn’t fair very well in the cold. Which also leads to the air source, CO2 which all the paintballers know can get very cold. So instead in the second version, I made everything I could stronger a lot of metal. You could get away with building this out of PVC but I didn’t want to take the risk of anything exploding if i went up in the psi range although my current saftey blow off valve is rated at psi.

With our local facilities, our enthusiastic staff and expert field workers, we provide reliable, pipeline construction, gas maintenance, and around-the-clock emergency repair services to both oil and natural gas producers. Other services include gas distribution services, custom fabrication, pipeline installation, construction of containment rings, installation of pipeline metering facilities, sandblasting, painting and full site cleanup.

Fast Response is What Counts Founder Lynn Ayres, notes, “We have built our business on the premise that we would provide timely, dependable and safe service to our local oil and natural gas producers and local gas distributors. We are extremely aware of the time-critical requirements of our customers and the pressure to meet strict schedules.

There have been times where we’ve been on the job, fully-equipped and ready to go with less than a full day’s notice.

I don’t know what the “something extra” was since I could not detect its presence; unless it was meant to be the ever present taste of salt!

Natural Gas Pipe Line Sizing Chart Example of a pipe system for a residential home Make sure the gas line can handle your generator To add a generator to a gas system you have to make sure you do not “starve” the other appliances. Often, the sizes can be modified for emergency use. In other words, a gas line that you would normally not connect a generator to you just may decide to you can because in the event of an emergency, you will not be using the gas grill or the gas dryer so the BTU loads of those appliances can be eliminated from your calculations.

Normally, correct pipe size is important so that each gas appliance has enough natural gas to function correctly. To verify that you have a correctly sized system you should first read each data plate on the equipment that is connected to the system. Each is rated in maximum BTU required.

How to Connect Gas Pipe Lines

National Grid is installing gas lines in Shirley, like the ones seen here on Cypress Lane, as part of a reinforcement project to support the Colony Preserve housing development. Homeowners with properties between and feet away from the gas lines would also have to get their neighbors to agree to tie in to the gas lines as well, she said.

Browning, who lives in the area where the gas lines will be located, first noticed the piles of yellow piping at gas main staging areas several weeks ago, and soon after, residents began making inquiries to her office.

The coil hose had a quick connect included with it which was great.

This provision applies to the building drain, building sewer, and horizontal branch drains. Install a clean-out near the junction of the building drain and the building sewer. You may install this clean-out inside or outside the building. Make this clean out accessible at the lowest floor level inside or at grade level outside. Measure the 10 feet along the developed length of the pipe from the clean-out fitting to the building drain and sewer junction.

Install a clean-out near the base of every vertical waste or soil stack. You may install this clean-out in the vertical stack or in the horizontal drain pipe. You do not need to install a clean-out if the change in pipe direction uses two or more fittings. You may use a fixture trap such as a sink or a fixture with an integral trap such as a toilet as a clean-out if the: Note that drain pipes 3 inches and larger require a clean-out size that is larger than most fixture drains.

Install a clean-out that is the same size as the pipe served by the clean-out. Provide enough access around concealed clean-outs to remove the clean-out plug and use the drain cleaning appliances. Do not conceal clean-outs with permanent finishing materials.

It is similar to a box-end wrench but, instead of encircling the nut completely, it has a narrow opening just wide enough to allow the wrench to fit over the tube, and thick jaws to increase the contact area with the nut. This allows for maximum contact on plumbing nuts, which are typically softer metals and therefore more prone to damage from open-ended wrenches. Ratcheting can be reversed by flipping over the wrench, or by activating a reversing lever on the wrench.

This type of wrench combines compact design of a box wrench, with the utility and quickness of use of a ratchet wrench. A variety of ratcheting mechanisms are used, from simple pawls to more complex captured rollers, with the latter being more compact, smoother, but also more expensive to manufacture. The one pictured also features a drift pin on the tail.

But remember, you can’t connect the flare fitting on the flexible gas line directly to a steel pipe thread.

A maintenance inspection b. A safety and operational inspection The maintenance inspection is geared more to preventative maintenance and identifying those items requiring repairs that will prevent the crane from being in a like new condition or from operating correctly, such as oxidized or cracking paint, sheet metal damage, track pad wear, track roller wear, rubber tire wear, oil levels, oil changes, etc. The Equipment Superintendent or his representative usually performs this inspection.

The safety and operational inspection, on the other hand is more concerned with identifying those items that will either stop a lift during the middle of an operation such as a worn sheave bearing that could freezes to it’s shaft or those items that could possibly lead to a component failure and an accident such as a hoist line with broken wires or a bent boom lacing. For example, this inspection would not be as concerned with tire wear because all lifts are required to take place on outriggers.

However, excessive tire wear would be noted on the inspection report. Both inspections can be and sometimes are done by the same inspection party, but this procedure is geared to the safety and operational inspection and assumes that someone else will complete the maintenance inspection.
